BIG MAX Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement for bigmaxgolf.com

Golf Tech Golfartikelvertriebs GmbH

Status: December 2025

Our Understanding of Accessibility

We want as many people as possible to use our website bigmaxgolf.com without restrictions — regardless of assistive technologies or limitations in vision, hearing, or motor skills.

Our goal is to gradually align our website with the requirements of

WCAG 2.1 Level AA as well as the relevant legal regulations (e.g., Accessibility Act / European Accessibility Act).

Technical Foundations

Our website is based on the Shopify platform.

When developing and customizing the theme, we pay particular attention to:

  • a clear structure with headings, lists, and regions
  • sufficient contrast between text and background
  • correct language settings (lang attributes)
  • intuitive buttons and links with meaningful labels
  • forms whose fields are associated with labels

Areas Already Addressed

Currently, the following aspects, among others, have been implemented:

  • The document has a unique page title.
  • The language of the page is correctly specified.
  • The most important content can be accessed via keyboard.
  • Contrast levels for text and buttons are largely sufficient.
  • Form elements (e.g., contact or checkout fields) are associated with labels.
  • Headings are used in a logical order.

We regularly review our pages using automated tests and manual sampling.

Areas for Improvement and Ongoing Measures

Despite all efforts, our website is currently not fully accessible.

We are currently working on the following points in particular:

  1. Alternative Texts for Images
    • Not all images currently have meaningful alt text.
    • We are gradually adding and revising alt texts, especially for product images and content images.
  2. Optimization of Zoom and Scaling on Mobile Devices
    • We are adjusting our settings so that users can zoom in on content more effectively.
  3. Subtitles for Videos
    • Subtitles or text alternatives are gradually being added to embedded videos so that content is understandable without sound.
  4. Manual Testing with Assistive Technologies
    • In addition to automated checks, we test pages using keyboard navigation and screen readers and adjust the structure if necessary.

Planning

We plan to reduce the most significant barriers step by step over the coming months.

New content (e.g., campaign pages, new product pages) will be designed directly according to accessibility criteria to avoid additional retroactive adjustments.
